All email messages coming from the outside into the Township are scanned by a filtering service hosted by Barracuda Networks. Depending on the criteria, some messages will be quarantined by the service. A quarantined message is not sent on for delivery to an inbox. You have the ability to go and look at a message destined for your inbox but was stopped by the filter and quarantined.
When a message is quarantined, you will receive an email from Barracuda giving you notice that you have quarantined items. To go and view these items:
1. Open a browser and go to https://ess.barracudanetworks.com
Enter your computer password if prompted.
After logging in, you will be presented with this window:
The message log will show you any quarantined messages that Barracuda has stopped within the last 30 days (maximum). The default setting is within the last two days.
You can adjust the search timeframe by using this pulldown menu to set the search.
If you have an idea of what message you are looking for, you can use the Search bar to enter criteria to filter the results. Enter your search term(s) and click the search button to filter the results based on your criteria.
If you want to read the message before deciding if you want to deliver it to your inbox, you can click on a message, and it will open in the reading pane below the email list (the reading pane on the bottom is the default setting you can move it to Right side of the screen or turn it off altogether).
You can use the Load Remote Content button to load more of the message formatting if the message does not load all content included.
If you click the Show Details link, it will show you additional information about the message, including any attachments the message may contain.
If you have determined that the message is safe, you can send the message through for delivery to your personal inbox. You can check the box next to the message you want to deliver and click the Deliver button (you can also select multiple messages at once for delivery). If you are in the Reading pane, click the Deliver button in the Reading Pane to deliver that particular message.
